Welcome to the Fit Paddle School course outlines. 
We paddle what we preach.  All classes are taught with the boats and gear we sell.


This ain't your mother's Tupperware.  The new generation of plastic race boats are fast and competitive.
Fit Paddle only uses surf skis for their classes because they are built for all conditions, fast, challenging, unsinkable and highly competitive in the world of paddle racing. 

If you purchase a boat from Fit Paddle and would like to use it in one of the classes listed below, you can reduce the entry fee by 50%.  If you are thinking about purchasing a boat from Fit Paddle but would like to take some classes prior to making a commitment you can apply $25 per class taken towards the purchase of a new boat.

  PADDLING SKILLS 101 (This is a flat water course)

 
 

Designed for people who have never been paddling or have just gone once or twice and are now interested in exploring the fitness benefits of this great no impact sport.  This is an introductory class to paddling for fun, and fitness. 

Learn the basics skills, techniques and fitness you will need to get the boat moving on the water.  If running injuries got you down and you still have that competitive spirit paddling may be what you’re looking for.  Get in the boat and give it a try.

All classes include on the water training.
Solo boats, paddles and pfd’s will be provided. 
(You may use your own pfd or paddle if you prefer) 
Please dress to potentially get wet.

Cost is $50 per person for a 2 hour session

 REGISTRATION & SCHEDULES
 
  PADDLING FOR ADVENTURE RACING  (This is a  river paddle course)
Designed for the adventure racer looking to improve their paddling split in an adventure race.  Paddling is often the most neglected discipline in adventure racing and easiest to improve with just a little instruction.  One of the best ways to improve your paddling skills for adventure racing and ultimately your team is to become a better solo paddle.

The Paddling for AR class will cover the best watercraft and gear selection for adventure racing.  The first hour of this class will cover basic paddling form and technique to keep in the race. The second hour of this class will take you to the next level moving you ahead of the competition with water reading skills, race strategy and time saving tricks & tips you never thought of.

All classes include on the water training.
Solo boats, paddles and pfd’s will be provided. 
(You may use your own pfd or paddle if you prefer) 
Please dress to get wet.

Cost is $50 per person for a 2 hour session.

  PADDLING FOR THE TRIATHLETE  (This is a flat water course)
Cross training is the key to injury prevention with any athlete and triathletes are no exception.  Paddling is one of the only sports that mimics the muscles and movements utilized in swimming offering an alternative to getting in the pool. 

The Paddling for the Triathlete class will cover the all the basic skills needed to get you moving on the water using paddling as the ultimate cross training tool to improve you swim times.  The first hour of this class will cover form and technique stressing the importance of rotation in your swim and stroke.  The second hour will be an introductory fitness workout.

All classes include on the water training.
Solo boats, paddles and pfd’s will be provided. 
(You may use your own pfd or paddle if you prefer)

  PADDLE LIKE A GIRL  (For women, by women)
This is an introductory class specifically for women.  Learn the basic skills, techniques and fitness required to get you on the water moving with confidence and comfort. 

The Paddle like a girl class will introduce women to the world paddling for fitness, balance and core strength.  The first hour of this class will cover form and technique.  The second hour will be a challenging but fun introductory fitness workout.

All classes include on the water training.
Solo boats, paddles and pfd’s will be provided. 
(You may use your own pfd or paddle if you prefer)

Cost is $50 per person for a 2 hour session.

  RIVER SKILLS  (This is a  river paddle course)
Designed for the paddler who already has the basic skills to get the boat moving and is ready for the next challenge paddling has to offer.  The River Skills class will focus on the skills, techniques and fitness required to paddle on a moving river.  The goals of this class will be to familiarize the paddlers with paddling in fast moving river currents, avoiding obstacles and potentially hazardous situations.   Increased confidence on moving water and river reading will be the reward for a successful class.

This is a moving river paddle course.

All classes include on the water training.
Solo boats, paddles and pfd’s will be provided. 
(You may use your own pfd or paddle if you prefer)

 REGISTRATION & SCHEDULES
 
  OPEN WATER SKILLS  (This is an open lake paddle course)
Designed for the paddler who already has the basic skills to get the boat moving and is ready for the next challenge paddling has to offer.  The Open Water Skills class will focus on the skills, techniques and fitness required to paddle in open water with wind and waves.  The goals of this class will be to familiarize the paddlers with deep water entry, wave surfing and open water crossing. 

All classes include on the water training.
Solo boats, paddles and pfd’s will be provided. 
(You may use your own pfd or paddle if you prefer)

Class size is limited to 6
Cost is $50 per person for a 2 hour session.

 REGISTRATION & SCHEDULES
 
  FIT PADDLE PRO WORKOUT  (This is a flat water course)
Designed for the paddler who already has the basic skills to get the boat moving and is ready for a real workout.  We will determine your baseline and work up from there.  This two hour water workout will vary weekly to keep it fun and interesting while pushing your fitness to a new level.  Whether you’re interested in paddling for fitness or competition the Pro Workout will make you stronger and faster.  Each workout will be designed with an objective measurable test so that progress can be logged and tracked.

All classes include on the water training.
Solo boats, paddles and pfd’s will be provided. 
(You may use your own pfd or paddle if you prefer)

 REGISTRATION & SCHEDULES
 
  PADDLE TO RACE  (This is a flat water course)
Designed for the paddler who already has the basic skills to get the boat moving and is ready to explore the competitive side of paddling.  The Paddle to Race course will demystifying the different types of paddle racing while getting you comfortable on the starting line with the knowledge of what to expect when the gun goes off.  Race strategy, technique and training will be the key ingredients to get you beyond the starting line.  Finding your competitive spirit will get you to the finish.

All classes include on the water training.
Solo boats, paddles and pfd’s will be provided.
